How do I wear it more casually- “The Attico” Resort 25?
Although, the new collection is not in stores yet, it’s important for one to know which items to look for in the store. For me, I have selected a few to pieces to add to my wardrobe. Being in my early 20s, I like to dress daring, compelling yet somehow sophisticated. Most of the items that I paired here have a high price tag, yet since they are staple pieces, it is easy to find alternatives which are less pricey. Below all of the outfit ideas that I created, I will give a description as to why I chose to combine the pieces chosen.
As I was scrolling through the looks, the item that spoke to me the most was this violet fur coat (the images released does not show the true colours of some of the pieces) . I am one of those people who believe that everyone should have at least one fur coat in their wardrobe. Myself, I will get real fur only if it was ethically sourced. Most will go for a more earthy coloured fur like brown, mahogany, black or white. This piece is a great way to add a bit of colour to your wardrobe without having to leave your comfort zone. I have decided to pair the coat with a simple satin balconette bra. This year, we have seen a rise of wearing lingerie on its own when going out. Celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Elsa Hook and Rita Ora are just a few examples. It’s a simple yet elegant way of showing our features while allowing the staple piece of the outfit to stand out. For the bottoms, I chose a micro short, again to keep it simple while showing off the coat. If going out on a date with friends or partners, pairing the shorts with a lace tight will add a bit of romance and playfulness, however, we can always choose it to keep simple and just wear normal tights. When wearing shorts this short, and also being naked on the top, some might feel a bit exposed therefore I added knee-high boots to add an extra coverage. In my opinion, wearing kitten-heeled boots are the best for this outfit since it adds some length to the legs, which we like to show. Lastly, I added a clutch bag in a shade of green. Obviously, the colour of the bag doesn’t matter that much since most of the outfit is black. However, I wanted something that would complement the colour of the coat. The green colour will prevent the outfit from being oversaturated by the purple. The purple of the coat is not vibrant, therefore I chose a muted green toned bag to not make it stand out more than the coat. As an extra, I added the MAC lipliner in Chestnut, a very deep-toned brown to give the lips a fuller look. For me, this outfit screams rockstar-chic.
For the second look, I decided to choose a piece that could be worn on its own. This dress caught my eye, as it shows many patterns. While the top looks like it was embroidered tulle to create a series of patterns, the bottom of the dress is fringed. The way that the patterns were made on the dress, compliments the body, highlighting the chest, waist and hip ratio. I wanted this look to remind biker-chick to those who were looking at it. To capture this, I paired the dress with a casual black leather jacket. It is crucial to keep in mind that when wearing something form fitting, it is always a better idea to pair it with something that is more oversized. This is to balance out the proportions which will maintain a sleek silhouette. Since, I am writing about wearing the collection more casually, I wanted to go for ballet flats. These one in specific are embellished with silver-ringed crystals which adds some character to the outfit. Since black is not considered a colour but a shade, it contrasts well with silver. While it is making us aware of its presence it does not overpower the colour sequence of the fit. The last piece of the outfit is a top handle bag which is also fringed at the bottom. Personally, this piece is just the cherry on top for the whole outfit. Pattern repeating is not considered beginner friendly, however we were all beginners at one point so it is never too late to start. For the makeup, I chose a bold red lipstick to add a bit of colour to the face. For the eyeshadow I had to go with a black smokey eye look with some silver in the middle. Overall, this dress can be worn all by itself and you will still be the centre of attention.
To finish, I decided to go for the most casual outfit ever created. A jean, white tank, a jacket and some sneakers. It is easier than we think to make a very casual outfit look very stylish, if we know how to style it. Obviously, we have to know which colours complement each other the best. You can always search it up, or you can take inspiration from others (giving myself credit here). For this look, I decided to pay my homage to The Attico and its wonderful new collection. The jeans have slight wash to it, as well as a different cut waist, which will accentuate just the right places. Obviously I had to go for a white tank top, which is form fitting. As I said above, it is really important balance out the proportions. The fiery red jacket will make anyone wearing it standout. When wearing an outfit this casual, I usually pair it with something that will make it seem like I’m a fashionista. The sneakers carry both colours of the outfit: red and white. Lastly, the bag just pulls the whole outfit together. The yellow complements the red of jacket. With its unusual shape, it almost looks like a sculpture. Overall, a simple yet sophisticated look can be created with what we already have in our wardrobes.
